7 habits to be highly effective

Today we’re going to learn about the 7 habits of highly effective people, but it’s not Stephen R. Covey’s work; it’s my work. So here are the 7 habits to be highly effective.

Number one, and this is the most effective habit to develop, always put feeling good before anything else. So if you need to make money, and for your business you need to come up with a product, but you feel horrible when you think about doing it, yet you’re doing it just to make money, then you’re putting the fear of not making money above feeling good. Now what’s going to happen, is you’re going to work like a maniac and only make like 20 percent of the amount of money you think you’re going to make. Now that’s going to make you panic and continue making bad decisions. One year later you’re still in debt, you feel horrible, and you’ve created references of failures. Always put feeling good before anything else. So that’s number one.

Number two, set yourself up to win. What that means is make sure that your goals, whatever it is, is in the sweet spot, meaning you know specifically what it is, you feel good when you think about it, and you’re certain you’re going to achieve it.

Number three, is use the non-NLP point of view. That’s basically when you want to do something, instead of saying, “oh yeah, I can’t wait to clean my whole house, that’s going to be fun,” go into the future as if it’s already done, and always operate out of it being already done. So instead of thinking about what needs to be done, think as though it’s already been done.

Number four is, before you do something, ask yourself, “Could I just not do it?” That’s the easiest way to save time.

Number five is your ability to notice what worked and what didn’t work and to analyze it. This is really good in terms of losing weight or in your business. When you’re in your bed at night, go back and think about your day and sort out what worked and what didn’t work. So in terms of losing weight, today what worked, what have I learned? In terms of business, what have I done that really worked? For example, I took a title from the Amazon’s bestseller list and used it in my email then it worked well.

Number six is energy. The most powerful thing I find in terms of energy is to stop eating poisons. In my case, I have an addictive personality trait with anything that stimulates the mind. So for example, coffee, black chocolate, tea, energy drinks, and soda. Also, I have a tendency to drink alcohol. So when I remove these things from my life, it could only be for five or ten days, but it clears my mind and I switch from bad habits to better habits.

Number seven is to let go. When you’re losing all your energy and mental focus trying to prevent bad things from happening, just chill out and let go. It’s important to prevent bad habits, but sometimes you need to just let go for a little while.

The Magic of Thinking Big

– you might have heard of this book – The Magic of Thinking Big, and I just ordered it. So I’ll read it, and if it’s good or I learn good stuff from it I’m going to give them to you. I want to give you three things about giving big. Number one – there is a paradox, and the paradox lies within your point of view, or your believability index, meaning if you’re feeling really, really, really good when you think about some of your biggest dreams, because we’re talking about thinking big, then something will happen. You will actually believe that you can achieve them. But if you go down emotionally, vibrationally to your “normal” state, and from that point of view when you think about your biggest dreams, then you will feel bad. So there is a paradox here. It took me a while to understand why sometimes while going after my biggest dreams everything worked perfectly fine, and other times it was counterproductive. Well the explanation that I have so far is that it’s in relation with your emotional set point. The better you feel, the more you can naturally believe that you can achieve big things, and the worse you feel the worse it is.

So the second tip I want to give you is to go incrementally. So for example, let’s say you have this big goal of making $10 million a year, but right now you’re like $50,000 in debt. So when you’re feeling really, really good you say yeah it’s possible, but most of the time when you think about it it’s so far away that you feel bad. The key is to go incrementally. So what you would do is yeah, you’ve got this big dream, but create a sub-goal that is in line with your biggest goal, which is to make $10 million a year, but a smaller goal that has the true criteria that Trudeau teaches in his course, which is it’s specific, you feel good when you think about it, and you absolutely believe that you can obtain it. Even if it’s something as stupid as, I don’t know, today I’m going to pay $10 on my credit card debt. But as soon as you do it, you feel good and you feel as if you’re making progress towards your goal, versus just not moving towards it.

And the third thing is, you can play with your mind. For example, if you just play with your physiology, so you think about this big goal and you feel bad, what happens if you take the physiology of being a super hero? Or what happens if switch submodalities, or what happens if you use energy medicine and you sedate triple warmer while thinking of the goal? So that’s something I will be exploring more, which is when you consciously think about something that you want and you have a bad feeling or a low belief, instead of waiting for your vibrational emotional set point to go up to go after it, what if you take the goal and you consciously change the emotional set point about it?

Survival of the dead

Today I want to give you five quick things I did to make more money with my business, or mistakes that I made that you might avoid. It’s for my business in French, which talks about self improvement and energy medicine. So the first thing I did – it is good, but I made a mistake – the first thing I did is I stopped focusing on only the backend, meaning selling new products to my old customers, and I refocused on the front end meaning acquiring new prospects. That specifically means advertising with Google Adwords to grow my email list, and when you go from, I don’t know, 20,000 people to 27,000, then you’re going to make more money in theory. So that was a good move, but the mistake I made was I forgot that these new people, they don’t’ have a relationship with me. They haven’t had a relationship with me for the last five years. So I need to rethink my front end. My front end is basically what is the first offer you’re going to extend to these new customers.

In fact, it’s not going to be really organized what I’m going to tell you, but the other thing is I realized that we really are in a new economy. I mean, I used to be able to pop up products for, I don’t know, maybe $67, $77 for one CD and it would sell like crazy. But in the last five months, I saw my sales volume dwindle down, and I went hmm, what is wrong with me? And, you know, maybe my offers suck or something, but I made a test and I just did the promotion for 48 hours only, I took my weight loss with energy medicine product and I offered it half price, and it sold like crazy. The price point was below $30. So I went hmm. So with my upcoming product, which is about self esteem, instead of having – I always have two versions, the basic version and the deluxe version – instead of having the basic version at $67 or even $50, I’m going to put it at $30 to see what happens. So the other thing is to realize that people might be more price sensitive now than they were maybe six months ago.

The other thing that I did was I increased the frequency of the mailings. Normally I would do a big product launch every month, and between the launches maybe send one, or two, or three Ezines with content. What I do now is every five days I send something to my list, and I make sure that what I send them is first, they get the real article, some good content, and then at the end of the Ezine I plug my other products. So first I see that I sell more of my older products, and the second thing is my readership went up because now they get real, meaty Ezines and articles instead of only promotions and sales pitches. So increase frequency of mailings, decrease the price point, and one last thing that you might want to add. If you’re sending pure sales pitches to your list – I say list, whatever it is that your business is – you can change that a little bit and be more stealth. What you do is you go to Amazon and you see the bestsellers in your niche, and you rip the title of the book or the subtitle of the book or the bullets on the back of the book or in the table of contents and you make this title the title of your email, so you know it’s going to sell. You know that the title is good, and then what you do is you write a small article about that, and at the end, you say have a good day, you put your name, and then you say PS, and then you make a link with one sentence between the article and a product that you have, and you end by saying click here if you want to learn more, or you can even be more aggressive and say this product is half price for the next 48 hours. So you’ve grabbed people’s attention with something you know sells, you’ve added value to their lives by providing content, but you know that you’re not just firing any article that will not be read because people are not interested in it, and then at the end you plug your products. So everybody wins.

Law of Attraction Gratitude

Does it really work? I remember years ago I made the following conclusion. What I wanted to do with my life, whatever the fuck I wanted to do with my life, I wanted to be completely free. And so to be free, all I had to figure out is how to make a lot of money, and then I would be able to do whatever it is that I want. So I would scan through all the books and everything. And Tony Robbins was about to reveal to me how to make money, and I went yeah. And he said the key is gratitude, and I went what an amount of bullshit. Teach me how specifically I can make money. He said no, no, no, no, no, the how is not important. When the why is strong enough, the how appears. And of course that’s complete bullshit, because if I teach you specifically how to make money and it’s a perfect solution for you, you’re going to do it.

Now in terms of law of attraction, the idea of gratitude bullshit, or is it good? Well here’s the thing – let’s say that right now you are feeling frustrated. So in the present reality, let’s say for example you’re frustrated because your business isn’t going where you want it to go or it’s not going as fast as you’d like it to go. So you’re feeling frustrated about business. So what you’re saying unconsciously to yourself is when it’s going to make me more money, then I’ll feel better, or then I’ll be able to move on with my life. As long as you hold that, you feel frustrated. Now, if you were to switch that and “force” yourself to find a way to feel gratitude towards your business, what you would do is stop focusing on what doesn’t work and to feel gratitude, you have to focus on something else. So for example, it did not cut your penis this year, and you could feel gratitude about your business about that. But the thing is, from the moment that you changed the focus and you begin to feel gratitude, what really happens here is you switched your emotional set point, or your vibrational set point. See, as long as you feel frustrated, then you stay in that state and nothing advances in your life. Since you’re feeling frustrated, you begin to attract thoughts, ideas, habits, and behaviors, and states, that fit that feeling. And the more you practice this, the more you stay stuck, and the more it’s your reality.

But if you change that for a state of gratitude, or any other state as a matter of fact, you have to change your focus. And when you switch your focus, then your emotional set point changes, and you begin to attract other ideas and solutions, which help you to move forward. So yeah, gratitude is good, but anytime you feel bad and you just kick yourself in the ass and force yourself to feel a little bit better, then the whole thing changes because it’s really like a downward spiral or an upward spiral, because as soon as you begin to feel bad and you focus on that and it becomes a habit. Like Abraham Ike says, it’s the work or the spiritual work is basically all day long, going from feeling bad to a little bit better, and feeling bad to a little bit better, and feeling bad to a little bit better. And when you feel good, you’re feeling a little bit better, and feeling good and feeling a little bit better. So I hope this helps, and if you have any questions.

Here’s my review of Abraham Ike’s products, services, books, and dildos. Now, when I first heard about Ester Ikes I thought that she was completely crazy. I mean, the woman is channeling not one entity, but a group of entities. So I thought, uh huh, so the woman is channeling a group of guys? So I said hmm, this sounds like transsexual to me. I went hmm – that must be new age bullshit. And I listened to her stuff and I went oh, this is really, really good. Now the key, if you’re going to learn about Abraham, is you’ve got to listen to her life while she is channeling Abraham. Why? Otherwise, when reading her book you might have a voice inside your head, and that voice might be way too serious. So when you read the book, you absorb the information through a serious point of view, and that doesn’t make it work because the energy of the Abraham entities, they’re really entities or she’s just an actress. It’s one of fun and maybe a little bit of politically incorrectness, and that makes her whole message work.

It’s the same thing with neuro-linguistic programming. If you train with NLP trainers and you just want to kill yourself, it’s because they don’t have the essence of NLP, which is in my opinion, at least from what I’ve seen, best incarnated through Richard Bandler because like he said – bottom line, he’s a maniac, but he has a great sense of humor. So when you use NLP with a sense of humor it creates magic. But when you only use the techniques it doesn’t work. That’s the first thing about Abraham.

I could say that it changed my life. Now, for me to say that a woman who I thought was a transsexual or a transvestite, channels entities which sounded gay to me, changed my life means it’s really, really, really good. I mean her stuff is simple, it is to the point, and it fucking works. And I know that it’s good because it’s simple, it’s aligned with everything I’ve observed in my life, and I try to base my life on things that I can observe, not just theories. Now I will take a couple of observations and make theories, but just to generalize just so I can use them. But most of what she teaches, it matches perfectly what I’ve seen.

So I highly recommend her stuff. Now I’ve bought all of her – I say her, but it could be them because they’re a couple. I think it’s Jerry and Ester, but I’ve bought all of their books and I’ve put them in the recycle bin except one which is Ask and it is Given. It just doesn’t work with me, but every – or almost – I’ve listened to almost every one of her CDs and they’re all excellent. So if there’s one thing you might buy from her, or them, get the book Ask and it is Given. And any one of their CDs – the live ones are really, really good. There are some good ones where it’s basically her husband reading the book. And it’s good, the information is good, but to me the real power is when you can listen to her live. She starts a seminar giving a little bit of theory or at least perspectives and principles, and then people from the audience ask her questions and then she channels Abraham answering these questions. And through the variety of questions, you can really begin to apply this.

And I’m going to end with this – I think that her, or at least one of her most powerful ideas is the canoe metaphor, that everything you’ve always wanted is downstream, so when you stop paddling upstream like an idiot and resisting life and you just begin to “chill out” it works. It is me, Mario. I continue discovering cool things about the law of attraction. I’m going to give them to you right now. So some of the theoretical principles are – the first one I got from Kevin Trudeau and he says the three step technique is determine what you want, and then you got to have a burning desire, which can be translated by feel good while thinking about it, and then the third element is you’ve got to believe you can get it. And when you feel good, aka burning desire, when you think about what you want, then you believe you can have it, then it will “manifest” itself. Now the first time I heard that I went of course, that’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard. That’s like saying during the day there’s more light than during the night. But, when you experience it it’s duh, but it’s completely different than understanding it theoretically. So there’s the three things – determine what you want, feel good, and believe you can have it. And how do you know you believe you can have it? Well, when you think about it you have a good feeling.

So my old version of the law of attraction is put yourself in the now and let go. And just doing that works because you feel better because you stopped focusing on what you don’t want. And if you wanted to be fancy, you could ask your question – what can I do right now to feel a little bit better, because that’s the second part of the theory is that you have to go incrementally, meaning the way you track that you’re moving toward what you want or that you’re getting better and better at the law of attraction is you feel better. So it’s through your emotions that you track whether you’re aligned with what you want versus what you don’t want.

Abraham Ikes says that there’s basically only two feelings – feeling better and feeling worse. So when you put all of that together, I went hmm. So the old version was put yourself in the now, let go, and then feel a little bit better, and I went yeah it’s good, but there’s something missing. And I went hmm – so the key is to focus on what you want. Okay, let’s use a little bit of that NLP here. So I began saying okay, if I put myself in the now what do I want, and I wrote stuff like I want magic, I want to be happy, I want to feel good, I want fun. I realized that most of the things that I wanted were feelings or states. The nice thing, when you ask yourself what do you want based on how you feel in the moment, the answers you’re going to get, they are within your traction range, meaning they are within your beliefs. The thought that came to my mind is not I want to be a billionaire, although I’d like to be a billionaire, but it’s not what came to my mind. It was more simple stuff like feeling good and having fun. And that’s in line with what I’ve read about the law of attraction, meaning it’s always incremental. So I went okay, but what do I do specifically to have fun?

Now if we go back to the training balance scale, which is something that Kevin Trudeau teaches, 99 percent of the key is what you want, not the how. So I went hmm – all right, fuck the how. So I started to just say okay, I use the NLP protocol and I say what’s there and what’s not there when I’m happy? Then I used Tony Robbin’s thing about the physiology. So I said – I imagined a line on the floor of my room and I went on the left side is I’m having fun, and on the right side I’m not having fun. So I played like that. I went to the left – oh, physiology of fun. Then to the right – oh no, I’m sad there’s no fun. And I went back and forth, and using Joseph Frijo’s ideas of everything is semantic or kinesthetic, semantic meaning how you feel, specifically the feelings. So I wrote down the specific kinesthetic or semantic cues of what it is to have fun. In simple words, it’s what are the key differences in my physiology or how I use my body when I’m “having fun” versus not having fun? So it’s simple stuff like fun – well, my hands are in the air. Having my eyes are more open. Fun, I feel more energy in the upper part of my body and all of that. And from that, I went oh that’s really powerful because now anytime I want I can feel fun for no reason, and I went that’s not good enough. Then I remembered all the things about the *** and all of that so I said okay, for 20 minutes I’m going to completely bullshit myself and say oh I’m really having fun right now. You can relate that to the future now or whatever it is. And of course I was completely bored out of my mind and I actually had some shit in my day. So I said, why not bullshit myself? Well after 30 seconds even though I knew I wasn’t having fun, I started fun because it was so stupid to say oh I’m having so much fun answering these emails, when in fact I wanted to kill these customers, that it became fun and I went oh that’s really, really good.

So I’m going to end this podcast right now by giving you a suggestion. You put yourself in the now and then you let go. Then you simply ask yourself what do I want? And then you simply right down what it is that you want, if you already had it, and if you want to go the extra step you give yourself a specific time limit – five minutes, ten minutes, 20 minutes. And for this specific period of time, you will do as if you already have what you wanted. So it could be become a billionaire if you’d like or whatever, but it’s really fun to do as if you were a multi-millionaire while taking a dump. It changes things. But the key here, is to choose something that you want, but isn’t that much of a stretch. I could give you, maybe tomorrow, another podcast of the test I did today when you do stuff that are outside your beliefs, even though it’s something you’d like to have.
